Workflow management is used to support and automate a variety of business processes.

A workflow application is where various applications, components and people are involved in the processing of information to complete an instance of a process. For example, consider a purchase order that moves through various departments for authorisation and eventual purchase. Workflow can automate this process following a defined set of rules and responsibilities putting the information in the appropriate queues for processing and issuing alerts if timeframes are not met. A workflow process involves constant change and update and new components can be introduced into the operation without changing any code.

Concept - Workflow Management

Concept uses Workflow techniques to allow agencies to define and refine their flows of work to automatically execute given tasks. Concept’s workflow is completely tailorable to suit the business flow of each agency to schedule specific tasks and responsibilities and to pull information from a variety of sources and integrate into disparate systems.

Job schedules for example can be created by using a pre-set template, building one from the estimate or copying one from other jobs. Then later, when someone flags that a task is completed, Concept will update the job schedule instantly.

Other ways in which Concept can improve an agency’s workflow management is by generating emails when jobs start or when their status changes. Warnings are given if timescales or budgets are exceeded. Emails can be sent reminding people to provide timesheets and purchase orders and estimates can automatically be reviewed and signed off.

These are just some of the many tasks that Concept’s workflow management can handle and automate.
